8 Steps to Unfu*k Your Life

Listen to me: You’re closer to success than you think.

You’re working hard, putting in the effort, and doing so many things right. But certain habits and behaviors might be counteracting all that progress.

If you’ve felt stuck despite your efforts, these 8 steps can help you unfu*k life and set the stage for massive wins in the next 12 months.

Momentum is the strongest force in your life.

When you’re winning, don’t stop. Too often, people hit a milestone (grow their business, get healthier, achieve a goal) and then relax. They lose the rhythm that created the success.

Momentum compounds. Wins stack on wins, but the reverse is also true. Stop doing what worked, and the progress slips away faster than you think.

Respect momentum. Nurture it. Keep showing up. Level up. A small win today can snowball into something extraordinary if you stay consistent.

2. Cut Out Bad Habit Friends

Friendships rooted in bad habits are anchors disguised as bonds.

Think about it:

  • Stoners have stoner friends.
  • Gossipers have gossip friends.
  • Party animals have party animal friends.

If the only thing bonding you to someone is a bad habit, it’s time to reassess.

You don’t need to create conflict or cut ties dramatically. Quietly distance yourself and seek out people who align with the person you’re becoming – not the person you’re leaving behind.

Ask yourself: If I spent 30 days in a room with this person, would I grow or stay the same?

3. Get More Sunlight

The sun is life’s most powerful source of energy – and it’s free.

Sunlight improves your mood, enhances your health, and boosts productivity. Even if you live in a cold or cloudy area, getting outside for just 10 minutes in the morning can make a world of difference.

The earlier in the day you expose yourself to sunlight, the better.

4. Clean Your Environment

A cluttered environment creates a cluttered mind.

Whether it’s your desk, your room, or the space you spend the most time in, take a moment to clear the chaos.

Eliminate distractions, put things where they belong, and create a space that breathes clarity and focus.

Your environment is a reflection of your mind. When your surroundings are calm, your thoughts follow, and suddenly, work feels effortless.

5. No Phone for the First Hour After Waking and During Deep Work

Your mornings are sacred, and so is your focus. Starting your day by diving into notifications, social media, or emails hijacks your mental clarity. You’re letting chaos take the wheel before you’ve even had a chance to think.

Similarly, constant phone interruptions during work destroy your ability to focus deeply.

Commit to a ‘no-phone rule’ for the first hour after waking up.

When it’s time to work, put your phone on airplane mode or keep it out of reach to protect your flow state.

Guarding your attention in the morning and during deep work ensures you are in control of your day – not your device.

6. Follow People Who Add Value

If your social media feed is filled with content that doesn’t serve your growth (influencers, gossip, or meaningless distractions) it’s time for a digital detox.

The content you consume shapes your mindset and influences your actions.

Start curating your feed to align with your goals. Follow people who uplift, educate, and challenge you to be better:

  • Leaders
  • Motivators
  • Critical thinkers
  • Problem-solvers
  • Creators in your niche

Your social media should be a tool that supports your growth, not a trap that keeps you stuck.

7. Learn to Say No

If something doesn’t align with your goals or has the potential to derail you, the answer is No.

Every time you say yes to something that doesn’t serve you, you’re sacrificing your energy and focus.

Protect your boundaries so you can pour more into what matters most.

Saying yes to everyone is saying no to yourself.

8. Learn to Say Yes

If something scares you, the answer is Yes.

Fear convinces you to say no to opportunities that feel uncomfortable or uncertain. But discomfort is where growth lives.

Say yes to the speaking gig that terrifies you. Say yes to the meeting that feels above your league. Say yes to the idea you’re afraid to act on.

If it stretches your skills, grows your network, or opens doors to abundance, lean into it.

The right “yes” can change your life.

P.S. Say ”yes” to the things that align with your vision and have the potential to elevate your future. Say ”no” to the things that don’t.
