You wake up. Wash your face. Grab your phone. Open Threads. What do you see? One person gained 100+ followers overnight. Another hit 10,000 followers. Someone else made $1,000 in product sales.
You start questioning yourself. How can I do the same? What am I missing? How are they doing it?
The answer is simple: they show up strategically. They’re not just consistent with producing content. They use strategic thinking to ensure their consistency leads to real results.
So, here are the 3 simple strategies I use to add 1,000 new followers every month (and how you can do it too):
1. Emulate High-Performing Content
Yesterday, I spoke to a fan of my writings. He asked me, “What’s the best way to get more views and engagement on Threads?” My answer was simple: “Learn to emulate.”
But let me expand on that. Emulating isn’t copying. Okay? It’s about dissecting viral posts. Capturing hooks that grab attention. Emulating structures that keep readers scrolling. Studying patterns that spark engagement.
It’s the fastest way to stop blending in and start standing out.
I can dive deeper but here’s an entire article I wrote on the topic.
2. Write High-Value Threads
High-value threads are the #1 cheat code for follower growth and lead generation. But most people overlook the most crucial part…
The hook. Why?
Let me explain.
This thread got me 62 newsletter subs and 200+ followers in 24 hours:
Why? 3 reasons:
- Personal Storytelling: “16 months ago I had 0 followers” grabs attention because it highlights a relatable transformation.
- Specific Numbers and Proof: “50,000+ followers,” “50M+ impressions,” and “500+ newsletter subs” adds credibility and makes the post more persuasive.
- Actionable Insights Teaser: “Here’s 11 things you can’t ‘ignore’ if you’re just getting started” promises actionable content and urges the reader to pay attention to what they shouldn’t ignore.
The thread itself is high-value. It’s the reason people liked, commented, followed, and subscribed to my newsletter. But it’s the hook that made them click and read the thread in the first place. The magic you’re looking for is in the hooks you’re not writing.
Another thread got me 93 newsletter subs and 400+ followers in 24 hours:
Why? 3 reasons (I like 3s):
- Relatability: “Today I turn 23” adds a personal touch and uniqueness (not everyone turns 23, or any age, every day) that connects with the audience.
- Direct and Provocative: “Don’t f*ck around in your 20s” is bold and attention-grabbing. It acts as a pattern interrupt that hooks readers and compels them to read more.
- Group Callout: “If you’re still in your 20s, please read this,” creates an immediate connection with a specific demographic.
Remember this:
- Your hook is 80% of your thread.
- The value is 20%.
If the hook doesn’t pull them in, the value won’t push them to engage, follow, and subscribe because they won’t get to experience your value in the first place.
I recommend writing 1-3 threads a week. Study and capture viral hooks from other creators. Blend them with your own unique ideas. Package them. Distribute.
Btw, you can use my hooks.
Here are the templates:
#1 Hook Template:
[Time Frame] ago, I had [Starting Point].
Now my [content/business/product] has generated:
- [Number] [Type of Achievement 1]
- [Number] [Type of Achievement 2]
- [Number] [Type of Achievement 3]
Here are [Number] things you can’t ignore if you’re just getting started:

#2 Hook Template:
Today, I turn [Age].
If you’re still in your [Age Group], read this:
1. [Key Lesson/Controversial Take/Advice 1]
You can change ‘‘Today I turn [Age]” with ”I’m [Age]”

3. Devour High-Quality Information
LOW inputs = LOWER outputs.
HIGH inputs = HIGHER outputs.
Period.
I read 30-60 pages a day, watch 1-hour podcasts, and meditate. Without these habits, I can’t produce high-quality content – content that helps both me and my audience build their minds, grow their audience, and scale their business.
Emulating structures and hooks is critical. But self-education is non-negotiable. Without fresh, novel ideas (novel ideas is the result of absorbing high-value information) you’ll find yourself stuck.
Or worse… you’ll blend in. Recycling the same old ideas as everyone else.
Use these strategies to grow your audience faster and attract more leads to whatever you’re offering.
Ignore the social media noise. These are the only strategies that matter.
